Capstone is a family owned company that was incorporated in 1990. As Spokane Contractors, we specialize in insurance restoration and disaster clean-up. The company was founded on strong business morals and ethics. We still hold close to that today and strive to give our customers the best possible result when disaster strikes their home.
One of the biggest differences between Capstone and Spokane Contractors is that we are an “in-house” company meaning we do not sub out to other Spokane contractors other than licensed trades; i.e. electricians, plumbers, HVAC. From “day 1” of your claim until completion of the project, you will deal with one of our supervisors and their experienced crew. No other restoration contractors can honestly claim this. In other words, the people working on your house were all carefully interviewed and hired by the owners of Capstone.
Great People Make The Difference
President Since 1990 Pat has been self employed as a contractor/homebuilder since 1976. He started Capstone in 1990.
Shay has worked at Capstone since his graduating of High School in 1994. He started as a laborer, was promoted to a right hand man, and eventually went on to run a crew of 5 guys for nearly 10 years. She moved in to the office as an estimator in 2008.
Prior to working at Capstone, Dave worked for various logging outfits as well as construction companies. His crew offers an array of skills and abilities giving a dynamic work environment.
Prior to working for Capstone, Mark was a self-employed contractor specializing in remodelling. His crew is currently staffed with 4 men ranging in a variety of skills and abilities.
Adam started on Capstones roofing crew in the summer of 1997. He continued to work at capstone part time while attending college. He became a right hand man followed by a supervisor in 2006. He moved in to the office to fill the role of director of marketing in 2011.
Jason worked part-time while in college starting in the summer of 1999. He soon was promoted to right hand man. Jason moved in to the office in 2006 as office administrator. He became office manager in 2013.
Mark owned his own collections business prior to work at Capstone. He came to work for Capstone in 1997 and has served many roles since then. He assists in sales, and is in charge of all of Capstone’s human resources.
Danny served in Nave and went on to be a professional bull rider. He started Working for Capstone in 1995 and ran one of Capstone’s first crews. He moved in to the office as an estimator in 1998.
Erika worked part time on Capstone’s contents crew while in college. After graduation she accepted a position at a local insurance company where she started in the mailroom and eventually worked her way up to assistant underwriter. She came to capstone in the summer of 2013.
Carol helped manage a paging company prior to working at Capstone. Carol came to work at Capstone in 2002. Carol manages our showroom as well as organizing, and facilitating our ongoing Continuing Education classes taught at Capstone.
Elisa worked as a major claims adjuster in the insurance industry for 10 years. She came to Capstone in 2007 to serve as a North Idaho estimator. She currently handles all claims in North Idaho and reviews any and all estimates prior to being submitted.
Sherry worked in management for various corporations in the food industry prior to coming to work for Capstone in 2000. Sherry holds many different job titles at Capstone.
Prior to working at Capstone, Andy set Mobile homes. He has been a supervisor at Capstone since 2001 and is skilled in every aspect of construction. His crew is currently staffed with 8 men ranging in skills and abilities.
Prior to working at Capstone Mike was a self-employed contractor specializing in new homes. His crew is currently staffed with 5 men ranging in skills and abilities.
Prior to working at Capstone, Todd built new custom homes from start to finish. His crew is currently staffed with 4 men ranging in skills and abilities.
Prior to work at Capstone, JR was a self-employed contractor specializing in home remodels. His crew is currently staffed with 4 men that bring dynamic and unique skill sets to each project.
Prior to working for Capstone, Marty owned a franchised restoration company. His crew is currently staffed with 5 men and women specializing in content restoration.

Capstone Construction’s History
Pat Cummings has been a staple in the Spokane Contractors construction industry since the mid 70’s. He initially was a partial owner of a framing company and eventually went on to own a small construction company building and remodeling homes.
In 1990 Pat started Capstone Construction Company. Capstone began as an insurance restoration company that also specialized in additions, remodels, and new homes.
By the year 2000, Capstone became the largest Insurance Restoration Contractors in the Spokane, employing over 50 people.
In the spring of 2014, Capstone Construction set out to, not only be known as the best Insurance Restoration Contractor in Spokane, but to reinvigorate the new construction side of the business as well. Larry Catalano was hired on as the point-man in all things related to new construction. As one of the top Spokane Contractors, Larry has built and remodeled hundreds of homes dating back to the 70’s.
Pat has had various partners over the years, and in the spring of 2013 his partner for nearly 20 years retired. At that time Pat’s sons Shay, Adam, and Jason bought 50% of the company. Shay, Adam and Jason, or commonly referred to as “Pat’s Boys” have been in the industry their whole life. They have all been employed at Capstone since the mid to late 90’s.
